Feasibility Study for Tunduma and Vwawa-Miowo Towns
Detailed description of project:
This Feasibility Study is part of the Tanzanian Ministry of Water “Climate Adapted Urban Infrastructure and Integrated Water Resouces Management Program” and aims at preparation of new investment projects in the two towns Tunduma and Vwawa-Miowo.
The Feasibility Study will take a new approach for a development measure within Tanzanian-German Financial Cooperation. The central idea of the program is to implement an “integrated and holistic approach”. This means that the program does not focus on a single sector or area but takes a broader approach to the challenges in the fast-growing secondary towns in Tanzania with a focus on water security.
This Feasibility Study shall focus on both towns (Tunduma and Vwawa-Mlowo) and serve as basis for appraisal and implementation of one or two Investment Measures. It shall, in consequence, provide all data necessary for the appraisal of a Financial Cooperation Project.
Type of services provided:
The feasibility study shall be carried out in a sequence of three steps:
1. Elaboration / outline of the details of the “integrated and holistic approach” to be applied for the Program;
2. Applying the agreed “integrated and holistic approach” to the two towns Tunduma and Vwawa-Mlowo and identifying individual Projects for the two towns including respective measures/packages;
3. Preparation of selected and confirmed individual Projects for both towns on feasibility level and preliminary design level.
