Intensive training in Ségou, Mali, on KoboCollect and geotagged images

On July 18th and 19th 2024, AHT’s in-house Remote Management, Monitoring and Verification (RMMV) expert, Jennifer Provost, gave a two-day training course in Ségou, Mali. In the context of the N'Débougou IV irrigation project, financed by BMZ through KfW, a robust and comprehensive RMMV system is essential due to the remoteness of the construction sites and beneficiary villages, and more importantly the insecurity in these zones, which prevents donors from accessing the project areas.

All members of the Consultant’s (AHT-BETICO) and Client’s (Office du Niger) teams learned how to use the KoboCollect application on Android phones and tablets, as well as how to take geotagged photos. A total of 25 participants attended the training, which combined theoretical and practical elements. Curiosity, mutual aid and good humor were the order of the day.

By mastering these tools, AHT-BETICO will be able to set up a platform and an interactive map on KoboToolbox, enabling KfW to monitor the progress of the construction work and the implementation of the accompanying measures.

The CEO of Office du Niger, Mr. Badara Aliou Traoré, honored the event with his presence on the second day of the training. A group photo was taken (see below).
