AHT GROUP GmbH is looking for National Experts (m/f/d) based in Ukraine, to build a roster for the future projects implemented by AHT in Ukraine in the sectors of nature conservation, forestry, climate and natural resources management funded by the World Bank/ European Union/ KfW.

Education:
Master’s degree in the field on environment, natural resources management, biodiversity protection, forestry, or related areas

Country/Regional experience:
Some years of professional experience in donor-funded projects in Ukraine and/or Eastern partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova)

Languages:
Fluency in Ukrainian, with good command of English (at least B1 level)

Expertise/ Profile:

• Excellent understanding of Ukraine’s environmental policy context, including laws and regulations
• Proven experience in projects on natural resources management (NRM), biodiversity conservation, protected areas and sustainable forestry in Ukraine and/or the region
• Proven knowledge of international standards in ecosystem management and/or biodiversity conservation
• Proven experience in working with a large amount of data/information and statistical documentation needed for the preparation of high-quality assessments or reports
• Proven experience in working with a variety of stakeholders and ability to engage in and to communicate with various actors
• Proven experience in projects or other activities related to community outreach/ engagement to protect biodiversity and natural resources management
• Proven experience in conducting surveys and producing NRM plans with the participation of communities (capacity building of communities, community engagement, awareness raising, biodiversity conservation, forestry, alternative livelihoods, etc.)
• Experience with organizing multistakeholder workshops including developing content, event planning and administration
• Proven publication record of technical reports and/or policy documents, nationally and internationally
• Experience with developing and delivering knowledge products
• Ability to deliver high-quality products in both Ukrainian and English
• Previous experience of involvement with World Bank/ KfW/ EU-funded projects or other international facilities is an advantage
• Proven experience with spatial analysis/GIS and in conducting surveys and producing integrated resources management plans at landscape and other levels is an advantage
• Excellent understanding of municipal regulations and work experience in the EU Member States and EaP countries is an advantage
