lndo-German Global Academy for Agroecology Research and Learning (IGGAARL) Consulting Services for the Implementation Support Consultant
Detailed description of project:
IGGAARL aims at the delivery of convincing research results that further agroecological farming in Andhra Pradesh and beyond, and improve rural livelihoods, in terms of incomes, food, nutrition, and health security while enhancing eco-system services. This is to contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources, to minimise the risks of climate change, and to increase productivity, income, and employment in rural areas.
The academy’s centralized hub is at Pulivendula in the YSR district of Andhra Pradesh and will be integrated in an existing research campus. In addition, research farms across the state of AP in collaboration with farmers and other agencies such as Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) to capture the results from all six agro-climatic zones are envisioned.
Type of services provided:
• Support the development of IGGAARL research orientation
o prioritisation of research topics and research planning
o identification of research partners, networks, and modes of cooperation
o developing of IGGAARL strategy for external fund raising
o communication with the beneficiaries and dissemination of research results
• Support to the establishment of the IGGAARL
o infrastructure buildings, furnishing, laboratories, IT, information repository etc.
o procurement for goods and services
o institutional and organisational set-up
o staffing
• Support to project management
o disposition fund management according to KfW guidelines
o administer study and expert fund
o set-up and implementation of a monitoring system
o compliance with Environmental, Social and Health and Safety (ESHS)
o reporting to KfW
