Elaboration of the design and pilot of a knowledge and monitoring platform for decision-making in the Lake Chad region, Part 1: Focus on existing databases and data needs
Detailed description of project:
The objective of this pilot project is to design a knowledge and monitoring platform (KMP) to support officials and other stakeholders in the Lake Chad region better understand the socio-economic context and risk factors for fragility, conflict, and violence, and to support investment decisions to help mitigate those risks.
A central component of the platform is a web-based information system to be hosted and maintained by the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC). To ensure synergies with previous interventions and existing IT structures (in terms of hardware and software), the design is inherently based on the further development of the Lake Chad Information System (LIS).
