Berlin - In January 2020 a team of AHT staff attended the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) 2020 held in Berlin titled "Food for all! Trade for Secure, Diverse and Sustainable Nutrition." In addition, AHT presented itself and a selection of our projects at the "Innovation Market". The GFFA Innovation Market is an exhibition format presenting practical examples, innovative solutions and scientific findings related to the GFFA conference theme. This year the exhibition focused on how international trade can contribute globally to food security and sustainable development. Relating to this, AHT presented the Financial Participatory Approach (FPA) that uses direct financial resources to mobilise local populations to take control of their own socio-economic development in the Southern Caucasus. This innovative approach was developed in Phase two of the Transboundary Joint Secretariat project in the South Caucasus and disseminated to other projects in the third phase of that project. The FPA examples showed initiatives in socio-economic planning, and in commercial production of mushrooms and olives.
