Short project description:
The objective of the project is to support the National Solid Waste Management Commission in the elaboration process of the National Solid Waste Management (NSWM) Strategy.
At the end of this project a comprehensive work plan for the NSWM Strategy shall be available and approved by the project partners.

Job description:

Assessment of the 'value' of the currently existing NSWM Strategy and other strategic documents in the field.
Development of core policies in the field of SWM.
Proposition of measures for an implementation strategy

Detailed requirements

Education:
University degree in Civil Engineering or Biology or Chemistry or Environmental Sciences with a qualification in solid waste management.

Country/Regional experience:
Philippines, South East Asia

Languages:
Fluent in English and German

Expertise/Profile:

The expert (m/f) should have sound experience in solid waste management planning and solid waste management strategies in developed and developing countries.
He/She should have the appropriate technical/educational background and experience necessary to have a good understanding of integrated solid waste management systems, organization processes and procedures.
He/She should have worked with the public as well as private sector in solid waste management consulting.
He/She should be familiar with policy instruments (solid waste management, economic and industry policies) as well as policy advice on national level.
