Region and duty station: Duty station Essen, Germany, with several short-term missions worldwide

Project / assignment duration: Permanent post at the headquarters of AHT GROUP AG. Initially one-year-contract with the option of extending it to a permanent post.

Job description:

Preparation of technical and financial proposals
Project management and backstopping
Report writing
Assignments as short-term expert in on-going projects

Detailed requirements

Education: University degree in civil engineering with specialisation in hydraulic engineering, irrigation and drainage

Country/Regional experience: Overseas experience in developing countries as a volunteer, a trainee or a semester abroad would be an advantage

Languages: German and English fluently, good knowledge of French;

Expertise/Profile:

Experience in at least 1 or 2 of the following fields:

Planning, construction and rehabilitation of irrigation and drainage systems and / or water supply systems
Rural road construction
Organization and support of water user associations
Management tools (Logical Framework Analysis, Project Cycle Management, MS Project.)
Standard IT tools (MS Office, etc.) as well as GIS / CAD
Excellent communication and team building skills
Relation to development cooperation during the study and / or traineeship

Willingness to undertake business trips regularly.
